Who We Are
WriteNow Founder
J.L. Kauffman helps writers finish books through the WriteNow community. He hosts daily writing livestreams designed to support unpublished authors as they complete their first drafts, with an emphasis on sustainable mindset, practical process, and the realities of a long-term writing life.
Through WriteNow, he has organized multi-day writing events, launched flash fiction competitions, curated collaborative anthologies, and delivered more than 300 live manuscript critiques for emerging authors.
Kauffman has been writing for most of his life, completing his first fantasy novel, The Crystals, at age twelve. He later earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside, where he trained in literary and screenplay story development. After graduating, he worked as a freelance ghostwriter before transitioning fully into the writing business.
In 2023, he founded The Creative Ghost LLC, a writing services company offering coaching, story editing, ghostwriting, and manuscript evaluations for emerging authors.
His current work in progress, The Last Scarecrow: A Dawn of Magic Series, Book One, has been developed across more than 800 consecutive livestream writing sessions and is scheduled for self-publication on May 15, 2026.

Community Engagement Director
Sol Macnamara
Hollow is an adventure writer who has been writing since they were a kid. Inspired by Warriors (Erin Hunter) and Bloody Jack (L.A. Meyer), their stories always follow Coming of Age, Discovery, and Self Growth. Playing video games has helped with their interactive storytelling skills, and writing fanfictions has given them plenty of practice.
Courtney Harding
Community Book Club Director
Courtney is a medically retired U.S. Army veteran who writes emotional, edge-of-your-seat contemporary romance. Her stories feature fierce heroines, stubborn heroes, and the kind of tension that lingers. She was published in WriteNow’s first-ever Freaky Friday Anthology. When she's not writing, she’s curled up with a good book, strong coffee, and her loyal Rottweiler, Quill.
